Affirmations, What are they?
Affirmations are positive statements that can help you over come self sabotaging behaviours and negative beliefs. When you repeat them daily and you start to believe them, you can change your negative thought patterns, your mood, state of mind anxiety and deep rooted beliefs.
They can help you create and manifest the life you desire. In very simple terms, if your negative inner critic is telling you that you are worthless and no good you will believe this, however if you change this with “I am worthy”, or “I am strong”, you will equally listen to this new dialogue. You can identify if your negative critic is male or female.
I’ve been using them for nearly 3 years now. I started writing them and using them as a tool to help heal myself when I was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition, Graves Disease in February 2018.
I really struggled with this diagnosis and the way it made me feel, emotionally and physically all over the place.
The thyroid is the gland associated with the throat chakra. A way to balance it is creativity, I’ve always loved writing. I started writing my own affirmations, which I shared on instagram. It was a medium, along with this blog, which gave me a voice to create and share.
I have affirmations written on my mirror, on post it notes, stickies on my laptop. You name it I have them. Using affirmations daily has helped me quieten down the negative noise, self doubt and raise my positive self belief. I started to believe in myself and follow my passion to create a business for myself. I’ve shared many affirmations I received on my instagram page, @star_spiritual.
